Rainbow Toastmasters (http://rainbowtoastmasters.org) is a group of 30-40 people working to build their communication and leadership skills. We meet every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Visitors are always welcome. If you come as a visitor, we’ll ask you to introduce yourself, but that’s it! If you think you might want to join, we ask you to visit three times before submitting an application for membership.
What is special about Rainbow? We are San Francisco’s only LGBTQ Toastmasters club, and we feel free to express our queer, fabulous selves at every meeting. (Our membership is made up of LGBTQ people, straight allies, and anyone else who wants a slice of our Rainbow heaven!) Our group is a casual, social and extra-friendly bunch of speakers.
In a 90-minute meeting, you’ll hear humorous and inspirational speeches, see people think on their feet with impromptu responses, and observe members giving one another praise and constructive feedback through evaluations.
Why Toastmasters? We are part of an international organization that helps to build public speaking skills, develop new leaders and practice communicating in thoughtful and articulate ways. It is great for professional development, or to just have a fun creative outlet with likeminded people! We go to dinner together afterward, and all visitors are welcome to join us!
